DataMigrator is comprised of two basic components and
one supplementary component:
- DataMigrator Server. A server must be installed and configured to
support DataMigrator operations. The
server houses and executes data and process flows, which are the
key DM design elements. For details about server operations, see DataMigrator Server.
- DataMigrator Data Management Console (DMC). The
main component of the DMC is the DataMigrator graphical user interface.
It runs on a Windows PC, where you design, test, and run data and
process flows. For details about elements of this console, see DataMigrator Data Management
Console.
- Server Web Console. The Server Web Console is installed
with the server. It enables you to perform browser-based server
administration tasks. For a list of DataMigrator-related server
administration tasks, see Server
Web Console.
You must install and/or configure these components before you
can begin using DataMigrator to build the data flows and process
flows that will build your data targets.
