Once you have installed , you can launch the
product and begin developing applications.
You can launch App Studio in one of the following ways:
- Start your Reporting Server and then launch App Studio. If
you have installed a stand-alone version of App Studio, or a stand-alone
Reporting Server for use with WebFOCUS, you can start your Reporting
Server before launching App Studio.
- Stand-alone App Studio. From
the Start menu, expand the Information Builders program group, expand
the WebFOCUS 82 App Studio folder, and expand the WebFOCUS 82 Server
for App Studio folder. Select Start Security OFF to
start the Reporting Server without security, or Start
Security ON to start the Reporting Server securely.
The Reporting Server opens a command window. Once the process is complete,
launch App Studio.
- Stand-alone Reporting Server. From the Start menu, expand
the Information Builders program group, and expand the WebFOCUS
82 Server folder. Select Start Security OFF to
start the Reporting Server without security, or Start
Security ON to start the Reporting Server securely.
The Reporting Server opens a command window. Once the process is
complete, launch .
Note: Additional configuration steps are required if you
choose to start the Reporting Server with Security ON. For more
information, see the WebFOCUS App Studio Installation and
Configuration Guide.
When App Studio first opens, you may be prompted to sign in to
your local host environment. You can enter the ID, wfdesktop,
with no password. For more information, see Navigating
the WebFOCUS App Studio Interface.
Note: If you have previously configured environments
on your machine, those environments appear when you launch .
