Delete Schedules

How to:

The Delete Schedules functionality provides on-demand options for deleting all inactive or nonrecurring schedules. You can also specify an option for traces: Default Traces, No Traces, or Trace On.

Note: You must be authorized to delete inactive or nonrecurring schedules on-demand. For more information, see the WebFOCUS Security and Administration technical content.

Procedure: How to Delete Inactive and Nonrecurring Schedules on Demand

  1. From the Tools group, in the ReportCaster Console, click Delete Schedules.

    The Delete Inactive and/or Nonrecurring Schedules dialog box displays.

  2. In the Delete Inactive and/or Nonrecurring Schedules dialog box, you can choose to delete inactive schedules, nonrecurring schedules, or both inactive and nonrecurring schedules.
  3. Under Trace Options, you can keep the default of Default Traces, or select No Traces or Trace On.
  4. Click OK.

Using the Command Prompt Interface to Delete Schedules

How to:

Optionally, you can delete inactive or nonrecurring schedules using the Windows command prompt purgesched utility. This utility is also available on UNIX.

Procedure: How to Run the Delete Inactive and Nonrecurring Schedules Utility

  1. On a Windows system, open the command prompt and navigate to the directory drive:\ibi\WebFOCUSnn\ReportCaster\bin, where drive is the drive that your WebFOCUS software is saved on, and nn is the version number of your WebFOCUS software.
  2. Type purgesched.
  3. Press the Enter key.

    The ReportCaster Schedule Purge Utility Operation displays.

  4. Type a valid Administrator ID and password.
  5. Press the Enter key.

    The delete all inactive schedules prompt displays.

  6. If you want to delete all inactive schedules, type Y. If not, type N.
  7. Press the Enter key.

    The delete all non-recurring schedules prompt displays.

  8. If you want to delete all nonrecurring schedules, type Y. If not, type N.
  9. Press the Enter key.

    The confirmation prompt displays.

  10. To confirm your schedule deletion choices, type Y to continue, or type N to decline.
  11. Press the Enter key.

    If you typed Y, the utility will proceed to delete your selected schedules, and processing is logged to the file purgesched.log in the …ReportCaster\log directory. If you typed N, the selected schedules will not be deleted.
