After installation, the WebFOCUS Client and ReportCaster directory structures are created.
The following directory is installed in the ibi directory by default:
Contains applications and data files. By default, this is the APPROOT directory where WebFOCUS looks for application files.
The default location for other directories is in the WebFOCUS82 directory. For example:
drive:\ibi\WebFOCUS82
The WebFOCUS82 directory contains the following subdirectories:
Contains configuration files.
Default location for Change Management import and export packages.
Contains additional configuration files and files for optional security configurations.
Contains templates for new portals and resources related to security configuration.
Contains Java tools, templates, and other files used by WebFOCUS.
Contains Java bundled with WebFOCUS.
Contains space for log files.
Contains Magnify product files.
Legacy folder that contains local map tiles, which were used when rendering maps using OpenStreetMap® data.
Location for migration packages created from an earlier release.
Contains the ReportCaster Distribution Server directories and files.
Contains sample WebFOCUS API applications and demos.
Specifies the location where files will be transferred during Source Control operations.
Contains the files required by Team Foundation Server (TFS), when TFS is configured with the WebFOCUS Source Control option. It also contains subfolders with redistributable libraries used by the TFS API. Libraries are compiled and placed in folders based on TFS-supported platforms.
Contains space used during internal processing.
Contains files used by the uninstall program.
Contains tools for configuration, migration, and other tasks.
Contains the WebFOCUS and ReportCaster web applications.
The default directory for the Distribution Server is:
drive:\ibi\WebFOCUS82\ReportCaster
The directory contains the following subdirectories:
Contains application and other executable files.
Contains configuration and NLS resource files.
Contains ReportCaster libraries.
Contains configuration and error messages.
Contains resources.
Contains sample API files.
Contains space for internal processing.
Contains the trace files.
Note: ReportCaster web components are installed with WebFOCUS Client.
Since the WebFOCUS Client runs as part of your web and application servers, the user IDs that run web and application server processes require access to the WebFOCUS Client directories. For Windows, default NTFS permissions are usually sufficient. However, the necessary steps depend on your web and application server.
You can optionally enhance security by changing the user ID under which Tomcat runs to an ID with less authority on the machine, and then setting NTFS permissions for this user ID. For more information, see Additional WebFOCUS Configuration Options.
For additional information about permissions and security, see the WebFOCUS Security and Administration manual.
